Who counts as one of my sign-ups?

Anyone who redeems your free month in the App Store or Google Play. The store records your code against that subscription, and that record is what we count.

Someone who taps your link but then gets the app without redeeming the free month can't be linked to you. The stores don't tell us who they are.

When do I start earning?

When their free month ends and their first payment goes through. Nothing is earned during the free month, and nothing is earned from someone who cancels before paying.

What is "net revenue"?

What Apple or Google actually pay us for that subscriber, after their store fee, VAT or sales tax, and any refunds. You get 30% of that.

If a payment is refunded after we've counted it, it comes off your next payout.

For how long?

For each person, the first 12 months after their first payment. If they pay yearly, the 12 months is that one yearly payment.

When do I get paid?

Monthly, once the stores have paid us for that month, which is usually 5 to 7 weeks after it ends. The date on your page is our best estimate until the money arrives.

If a month comes to less than £20 ($25 or €25), it carries over and is added to the next one, so bank fees don't eat it.

What currency will I see?

Your own: dollars, pounds or euros. The stores pay us in pounds, so anything not yet paid to you is converted at that week's rate and can move a little. What you're paid is converted on the day we pay you.

How often are the numbers updated?

Every Monday. The page shows the date they were last counted. We work them out each week from the App Store's and Google Play's own records of who used your code and what they paid.

Will I see who signed up?

No. You see counts and amounts, never names. Nothing in anyone's health record is ever part of this.

Do I have to say it's an ad?

Yes. Because you earn from your link, the law treats your post as an ad. Put “Ad” at the start of the post or caption, where people see it before they tap. “Affiliate” or “link in bio” on its own isn't enough. In a video, live or Story, say it or show it in the video itself as well.

Talk about how you use the app. Don't say it treats, cures or diagnoses anything: Biojrnl is a journal, not medical care.
